Ingredients
  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • Cooking oil
Instructions
  1. Marinate: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns, and sugar. Marinate the meat for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook: In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Brown the meat pieces on all sides.
  3. Simmer: Add the marinade mixture and water. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes, until the meat is tender and the sauce thickens.
  4. Serve: Pair with steamed rice and enjoy the savory, tangy goodness.
